Traditional method of preparing Matcha

Step 1

Add 1 level teaspoon of ceremonial matcha powder to a bowl.

Step 2

Fill with warm water (70–80 °C).

Step 3

Whisk in a zigzag motion until the drink foams.

Pour into a cup and enjoy ceremonial matcha or make a creamy Latte.

Tip: Before whisking, wet the whisk with hot water and warm the bowl. This will make the whisk flexible and help create a perfect, creamy foam.

Ceremonial matcha is a premium green tea powder , traditionally prepared using a bamboo whisk ( chasen ). It is made from the youngest leaves of the first spring harvest, which gives the drink a mild sweetness, rich umami flavor, and silky texture.

Our matcha comes from the fertile fields of the Aichi region in Japan . It is made from Okumidori tea trees, which are prized for their smooth, balanced flavor and vibrant emerald color.

Matcha is a special powdered green tea - when you drink it, you consume the entire tea leaf, not just the infusion. For this reason, it has a more intense flavor and contains significantly more nutrients than regular tea. One cup of ceremonial matcha is nutritionally equivalent to about ten cups of regular green tea.

Ceremonial matcha is of extremely high quality and is intended to be enjoyed as a drink (pure or mixed with water/milk), while culinary matcha is most often used in cooking and baking. The ceremonial variety has a much more subtle, balanced and refined taste.

Here's a quick guide to the perfect cup:

  1. Sift: Pour 1–2 g (about ½ tsp) of matcha powder through a sieve into a bowl.
  2. Pour in: Pour in 70–100 ml of hot ( 70–80 °C ), but never boiling, water.
  3. Whisk: Using a bamboo whisk, whisk with quick wrist movements (drawing the letter “M”) for about 15-20 seconds.
  4. Enjoy: When a stiff, bright foam forms on the surface – drink immediately.

For Matcha Latte : pour prepared matcha (in a smaller amount of water) over warmed and whipped plant-based milk.

Matcha provides a natural, steady boost of energy without any jitters or sudden energy drops, making it ideal for a morning start or as an afternoon pick-me-up.

Once opened, keep matcha tightly sealed, away from direct light, heat, and moisture. The best place to store it is in the refrigerator, which will preserve its freshness and vibrant color for the longest time.

Yes, you can enjoy the matcha ritual several times a day. 1-2 cups is usually recommended, but for true enthusiasts, 3 cups will not cause any problems.
