Traditional method of preparing Matcha

For this reason, it has a more intense flavor and contains significantly more nutrients than regular tea. One cup of ceremonial matcha is nutritionally equivalent to about ten cups of regular green tea.

Ceremonial matcha is of extremely high quality and is intended to be enjoyed as a drink (pure or mixed with water/milk), while culinary matcha is most often used in cooking and baking. The ceremonial variety has a much more subtle, balanced and refined taste.

Here's a quick guide to the perfect cup:

Sift: Pour 1–2 g (about ½ tsp) of matcha powder through a sieve into a bowl.
Pour in: Pour in 70–100 ml of hot ( 70–80 °C ), but never boiling, water.
Whisk: Using a bamboo whisk, whisk with quick wrist movements (drawing the letter “M”) for about 15-20 seconds.
Enjoy: When a stiff, bright foam forms on the surface – drink immediately.

For Matcha Latte : pour prepared matcha (in a smaller amount of water) over warmed and whipped plant-based milk.
